When it Rains, it Pours!

Right, remember I told you that I’m going to be super busy in the following weeks here during my vacation? Yes, it is indeed and I will be busy as my K student has just arrived here in Cebu just tonight. This means that tutorial arrangements are going to be followed and it’s gonna be everyday. I’m so happy to have such great communication with my previous K students. Thanks M for the recommendations. Imagine it’s been almost four years since I left that K school I worked with for a year. Really, establishing great raphor with people is of utmost importance. As what the old adage says that one should never burn bridges for one never knows when she’s gonna be coming back if she ever has to for once in her life. I don’t know if I made have put these words meaningfully. Smiles. Here, I can really attest that truly like rain blessings pour abundantly like rain showers on a lovely day. :)

Busier than Bees

This week and next’s would be quite busy for all of us here at school as we are nearly coming to close and as to formally welcome our summer holidays we are hosting a play for parents to watch. We are coming on Saturday to do more rehearsals and make the decorations for the upcoming long awaited performance. Some students may not come on that day so we agreed to have some supporting characters ready for whatever is missing on that day. Oh it’s gonna be my first directorial job here as an English teacher. I’m so excited just thinking of the real play on Wednesday next week. For now all I can do is imagine and leave it all to them on the day of our greatest performance of all time. :)

Spelling Like a Bee

Can you imagine yourself spelling like a bee? Why in the world is it called Spelling Bee by the way? Well, to play it smart, I think it’s because every contender is going to be buzzing with their wits and knowledge of words mixed with their quickness in thinking of the right order of letter to form the right spelling of each word in a specific limit of time. The quickest of course wins! :D

I hope our first round of this contest would all go well tomorrow morning. I just hope, as my higher levels and us would be going to Doha’s Bowling Center to have some great and quality moments. I know it’s not really a good timing to have a Spelling Bee after two hours of tiring ourselves out there in the alleys throwing balls to beat other teams, but we have to do the Spelling Bee Round 1 as soon as we arrive school. Grins.

Best of luck to all the challengers! :D You can and will do it, guys :)

Gear Up!

Today’s pretty tiring and boring for all of us at work. Aside from the fact that there has been a lot more annoyances going on this morning, one colleague was so irritating who always keeps on asking for information to one of my colleagues during our break time. Well, it’s just like that all the time; as to when didn’t I experience like this scenario since I came here, anyway? Grins. What a pity for my dear colleague. From the moment she came here this morning when I arrive she was shouting til the minute she left the school she was also raising her voice to be heard by her kids to move and tidy up their room on dismissal time. Poor Ms. S. Sighs. What a day indeed! Deep sigh. :(

Chores and Study

I need to do a lot more chores today unlike last week. :) I hope to finish all these for I badly need to update my bloggies as well as plan my lessons. Then, I have to compute grades for me to panic when they will ask me for it. Urgh! There are so much to think about and many things to do but all these doesn’t hinder me from updating my sites online as well as updating my family and boyfriend at home. Oh dear, how I miss them so! :) From now on, there must be a plan for my chores and study for me to accomplish many things in a day most especially when it’s my days off here. Truly living in a foreign country is a great test of oneself whether to successfully survive or not. Sighs. :)

Sunday Morning Blues

This morning’s class with my toddlers was just another challenge for me as a teacher. I had a listening and dictation activity with them and one student colored the last item differently. The other two students noticed it and said no your color is not right it must be orange and not blue. Then they showed him the color orange and said change it. Then that little kid slowly got the orange crayon and we didn’t know that he was silently crying until tears dropped on the paper. Whew! What a trifling reason. I went out ahead of them as they were all with that little spoiled brat who cried in between sobs. Gosh! Grins.

My Friend is Disappointed

As she arrived home tonight I noticed a sad face with wet hands from the heavy rain outside. She immediately muttered her story about her Life Club activity with our adult students. She had a mixed lower level activity tonight and out of thirteen people inside the room only five or four spoke freely and participated in the activity. It was so obvious from her face the disappointment she felt and I heared her on that point for I also had the same experience before with the same students. Well, after all as I told her we aren’t losing in the overall process you know. If they aren’t learning from us then it’s not our loss or our fault because we have done our very best to impart our knowledge and skills but they are always showing reluctance in speaking the language. I understand her view though for the fact that she really is a dedicated and efficient teacher.

Now I Can Sleep Soundly

For over five hours now of trying my best to understand the simple commands of html, I somehow cracked how to put pictures on my entry. Somehow, somehow I learned from my mistakes though my sister gave me a pattern on how to make it as well as instructions on how to put pictures to look as if it just stick on my blog page. Whew! I could say this is another fulfilling moment of my day. Aside from the rewarding class I had with my early learners tonight. I have Pink who is the smartest girl in my early learners tonight; she did very well in my class. She motivated her classmates to speak louder and as young as she is at the age of four she knows what I want them to do. She would then explain it for me in her mother tongue. Amazing isn’t it? Well, it goes to show that her parents really put more effort on her English lessons at home. And when we finished the lesson she went to her mom and told her about what we did. She followed me to my office and watched my colleague playing Bookworm Adventures. She got so engrossed and I called her name. I played charades with her for a while and she got all correct! My friend was so fascinated at her brilliant mind. She also followed me and asked more questions which Pink answered correctly. Whew indeed! I am so proud of her and in behalf of her parents who are doing a great part of her English lessons at home. Smiles. This is such a much rewarding day. Now I can sleep and hit the bed in a few minutes.

First Day Funk

Yesterday was the first day of the Autumn term here and I was so glad that I would be having early learner classes this term with only two classes with middle school students on Sundays. Luckily, I don’t have adult classes this term and I love it! I don’t like to be with desperate fuck ups who’d always moan about living on this planet and bitching most about their damn business. Whew! I’d rather enjoy the company of the little, innocent, and active monsters who loves learning while playing couple of games. So yesterday, I had just enough load of them and we enjoyed our time together with my Team Assistant. Smiles. I hope this term would be fruitful for us all.

So-called Fulfilling Night

Tonight is the first and hopefully would be one of the fulfilling nights of my level one adult class since we’ve got 21 more meetings left to bingo. Well, they are just so lovely to teach, I think; now, that I’ve got a sort of little glimpse on their learning styles after we played some short activities and quick games. We just had a review on the things we learned from the first unit of our book and I recapitulated everything for us to start another unit this Thursday. I hope they’d still be as enthusiastic and receptive as tonight. Smiles.

Now, I can sleep soundly. Smiles.
